Tennis is a game that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and there has been research that shows that it can help keep us mentally fit as well as physically fit due to the social nature of the game.

At Wollaston, we have many players who are over 50, who take part in a lively tennis scene.

Some players are in their 70's and 80's but have the agility of people much younger.

As well as getting good quality tennis, they also enjoy the social side of the club as they can chat in the clubhouse after the sessions.

The main mix-in session of the week is on Wednesday morning which usually attracts 20 or more players.

Many people find tennis is a good sport to take up or return to when they get older as it provides exercise with an element of competition, but without the physical risks of other sports like rugby and football. It's also much more fun than spending hours alone in the gym, the swimming pool or pounding the streets for miles.
