PLAYING TENNIS AT WOLLASTON

Wollaston prides itself on its sociable outlook towards the game of tennis, while still encouraging competitive play and fostering talent.

Members will always feel welcome, as Wollaston operates a permanent "mix-in" policy, which allows you to turn up any night to join in.

Saturday afternoons are popular in summer - especially because they end in a lavish tea, with sandwiches and home made cakes.

Wollaston has a strong Junior membership, encouraged by a dedicated coaching team, headed by Club Coach Bob Tarpey.

COMPETITIVE EDGE

While the emphasis at Wollaston is on sociable tennis, there are plenty of opportunities to test out your competitive streak.

Men's and women's teams compete in the Staffordshire, Hereford and Worcester and Kidderminster Leagues and these are always on the lookout for fresh tennis talent.

Tournaments to suit players of all ability ranges are a popular feature. A handicap system applies to some of these events, widening the appeal and giving an opportunity to take on some of the club's top players - on a "level playing field." Open tournaments are also held during the summer, giving the chance to compete with players from other clubs.
